Anything you paste or set in the usage tracker and the calculator, your theme choice, your time-zone choice and your browser-alert setting stay in your browser's local storage and are never sent to this site.

The server and Cloudflare, which sits in front of it, log each request with its IP address, time and browser type to keep the site running. There are no visitor cookies, analytics or advertising scripts. To cap each person at 1,000 taps of the beg button and one guess per reset cycle, a salted hash of your IP address is kept for up to 48 hours. Page views also add to the beg count, as a bare number: that counter records no address, time or browser.

Email alerts are stored and sent by WordPress.com (Automattic), with an unsubscribe link in every message; the Telegram, Discord and QQ channels are run by codex-reset.com under each platform's terms. If you turn on browser alerts, your browser's push address and its encryption keys are stored to send them, and deleted when you turn alerts off or the address stops working.
